Letter To The Community
« on: February 05, 2010, 04:06:48 AM »
Dear FCS Community,

First, I want to thank you for the insane amount of support that you've given FCS over the last two years! Without YOU, this site and podcast would be meaningless!

Next, I want to apologize for my lack of participation and my irregular content schedule on the FCS forum, podcast and blog. I know that we are all busy "living the dream," but please understand that one of my favorite things to do is produce more content for you, the fan, and I haven't been doing enough of that lately.

I'm writing this letter now to say because of you, I have so many opportunities on the horizon that I wake up every morning fearing that it was only a dream. No, I'm not going to be on reality TV, sign a contract with the Food Network or anything of the sort. The project that I've been working on will be so much more, just wait and see.

I can't announce anything yet, us cooks are a superstitious bunch and I wouldn't want to jinks it. All I can ask is that you hang in there for just a little while longer, so together, we can turn the FCS project into something REALLY special.

More info to come in the next month or two, and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Thanks again so much for your ongoing support, I'm in your debt..

Sincerely,

Jacob Burton

Thank YOU, Jacob.  We truly appreciate all that you do for us, here, but we also realise that real life must always have priority over cyber life.  We look forward to hearing about not only the new project, but also your adventures in getting there.

Keep up the good work!  Thanks!

I will keep all my digits crossed in order to avoid a jinx.  Keep up the great work, take care of family and good luck with your endeavor.

Thanks for all you have done.

PS.  You're a major tease!

Can't wait, sounds fantastic. Can't express how much I appreciate having a place where I can connect with so many others in the same pot as I am. :)

Thanks Jacob! The beauty of the system you have designed is that if you need to take a break or concentrate on the tangible world we can keep each other occupied in your absence! Not saying we don't need you by any means but you know what I mean.  And now I'm really curious as to whats going on... Good luck with it!

I think retribution for being teased is to speculate and start some rumors. Did you hear Chef Jacob is going to be on Top Chef next season?

Don't even joke about that. I would scream like a little child, run around and then have a Top Chef party each and every week while it airs.

...

Are you?

I had the same thought as you HOMECOOK and I did a little research....

1.)  Top Chef season 7 begins filming in April, most likely in DC.
      This is indeed a possibility

2.)  Top Chef: Just Desserts also begins filming soon.
This is for pastry chefs only, not Jacob's specialty, so unlikely.

3.)  Hells Kitchen season 7 started filming last week.
This show will air in April so it could be a possibility if Jacob is away from Taho right now.

4.)  Microsoft is buying up FCS making it the BFCS
      Bing Free Culinary School

5.)  Barak Obama has hired Jacob to lead the healthy school lunch initiative.
Jacob could survive without a bucket of drawn butter at hand...no go.

6.) Jacob has bought up an run down restaurant and we are all going to run it virtually!
This has to be the answer.  I nominate Mommycook as Head Pastry Chef, can I get a second?

You can safely rule out reality TV. This is something that will benefit the FCS community and open up so new opportunities, not just myself (although I will definitely see some nice benefits from it as well). Don't mean to keep you guessing; I have a meeting tomorrow to finalize some of the details so hopefully soon.

@Wisconsin Limey,

Clarified butter isn't healthy? Man, people are sure getting strict with their diets these days. I suppose next you're going to tell me that bacon isn't good for you and that I should be watching my salt intake.

Hey thanks Limey!  As long as the demand is like one cake every few weeks or so...lol.

Sounds interesting Jacob!  We're behind you chef :)

Jacob won the lottery and is paying off all our mortgages.   :D
